Dr. John Cody inherited a thirst for knowledge from his schoolteacher
parents. Unlike his twin brother who followed their path, Dr. Cody
channeled his interests into veterinary research and clinical pathology.
After graduating with a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington
State University, Dr. Cody returned home to Southern California. He
worked for a bit of time for the USDA in research and saw patients at local
veterinary hospitals before joining the staff at Hemopet. Dr. Cody will not
only be seeing patients at Hemopet Holistic Care, as will also assist Dr.
Dodds on the blood bank side of Hemopet. During his free time, he enjoys
volleyball and surfing. He also has a cat named Max.
Dr. Daniela Leumer completed her doctorate in veterinary medicine at
Western University in Pomona, California. That's only part of her
educational journey. Dr. Leumer also has a Masters of Science in
microbiology from California Polytechnic University in Pomona, as well
as certificates in Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. She has
worked as a research associate at Allergan, Purdue Pharmaceuticals
and the Center for Antimicrobial Research, as well as at several
veterinary clinics and as a relief veterinarian. She and her son, Luke,
have several rescued companion pets including three dogs, a cat, an
African Ringneck bird, a bearded dragon, a corn snake, and two
Madagascar three eye lizards. In her free time, she pursues Iyengar
